Workforce:
This may almost seem like a question that doesn't need to be asked. Yet, there are many scenarios where projects get delayed due to the workforce not being big enough. This often happens with newer, inexperienced commercial roofers or residential roofers that dip their feet into the commercial world.
Licensing:
It's obvious a commercial roofer needs a commercial roofing license; however, do they also hold a general contractor's license? This may very well come in handy if they do. Other aspects of the structure may need repair work during many commercial roofing projects, and these areas may not be covered with just a commercial roofing license. Being able to keep the entire project with one company can save both money and time.
Experience:
This is big. Ensure the company you are going to hire has adequate experience and preferably with projects similar to yours.
Reputation:
This can really make or break your decision of who to work with. It cannot be stressed enough to select a commercial roofing company that has a great reputation. You can find this out by checking their Google reviews, Yelp, and other online review sites.
Low Bids:
Commercial roofing can be costly, so it's understandable why the lowest possible price lures some people. But buyer beware, low bidding quite often is a sign of an inexperienced roofer who doesn't know how to quote projects properly. Or someone with little experience trying to gain some and is willing to cut the price to do so. Do you want your commercial roofing project to be their learning curve?
